Update: I like these headlights.
I got new headlight bulbs last night, because one of them burnt out. Philips ExtremeVision or something, supposedly 100% brighter than standard Philips H7s. They are fantastically bright, I wish I’d shot them sooner. It’ll make a huge difference on dark roads when I can’t use my high beams due to traffic. I’ll post a picture of the brightness later.
Bonus ice beard.

Hate to say it but m ight as well use high beams, many upgraded bulbs are just as blinding to oncoming traffic.

I got the same bulbs for my MkIV Jetta a year or two ago, and I can’t say enough good things about them! So bright, yet 100% legal.

They aren’t HIDs or anything, they’re just a brighter bulb in the same housing. Doesn’t change the angle of the light, it just goes further.

Nice. Phillips X-treme Vision? They aren’t super blue are they? (The local constable don’t like the blue lights.)

No they’re white, erring on the yellow side. The bluer ones are Crystal Vision or something

Looks great, do they draw more power than standard H7s? Don’t want melty fuses on my hands if I replaced the bulbs in my Volvo with these...

Not as far as I know, I’ll update if they cause any problems, but they’re intended to be a direct replacement of the standard H7s

That’s what makes me skeptical. Halogen is halogen, you can’t get more than twice the lumens for nothing...

In theory they’ll last around half as long as the standard ones, hopefully that’s the only effect
